Famous Age-Gap Couple: Michael Wolff & Victoria Floethe

I've read a number of Michael Wolff's page turners - including Too Famous, which is peppered with nympholepsy. For example, Wolff wrote that, in terms of his affair with his step-daughter, Woody Allen said, "the heart wants what it wants". Wolff related that Petronella Wyatt, a friend of Rupert Murdoch's daughter, said that, [among a number of other famous elderly men], Murdoch ogled her when she was a nymphet. And per Wolff, Jeffrey Epstein told Steve Bannon that one of Epstein's masseuses, a 14-year-old whom said she was 18, told the police that she lied about her age: "[...] because she was afraid she would never be allowed into the house and never be invited back."

In addition to Wolff's books, I've been (curiously) impressed by Wolff's impeccable since of style, which caused me to be doubly astonished when I read Richard Johnson's Page Six headline: "Michael Wolff expecting a baby with girlfriend 30 years his junior" (February 6, 2015)

Johnson wrote that 61-year-old (married) Wolff starting dating having an affair with 34-year-old Victoria Floethe in 2009 (i.e., Wolff was 55 and Floethe was 28).

Consequently, per Gawker, in 2014: "Wolff filed a matrimonial action against his wife in the Supreme Court of New York"; however, Wolff did not inform his wife whom found out via Gawker. 

Who is Victoria Floethe? Per WagCenter, Floethe is a model (L’Oreal SoColor), an actress (Broken Windows [theater]), a host (LookTV's SEXY. NOT SEXY), a writer (Slate), and she interned at Vanity Fair where she reportedly began her age-gap affair with Wolff. 

And unsurprisingly, per Gawker, Floethe is an (open) teleiophile. Owen Thomas wrote in his Gawker piece, "Victoria Floethe, the New Media Ingénue" (02/26/09), that prior to Wolff, Floethe dated Melik Kayla and Lawrence Osborne - both older (travel) writers. 

The "travel writer" boyfriend whom she never names in the Slate piece is Melik Kaylan, a widely published journalist much older than her. At the time Floethe and he were going out, Kaylan was married. He helped introduce her to Wolff, who got her an internship at Vanity Fair. According to our tipster, to Kaylan's dismay, Floethe switched her affections from Kaylan to Wolff. 

She's also dated Lawrence Osborne, the travel writer ex of founding Gawker editor Elizabeth Spiers. And at an Interview party, she was photographed clinging to the side of English writer Adrian Dannatt.

Lastly, per the New York Times, Wolff's divorce was finally finalized, and he and Floethe are currently married.

Charlie Puth & Teen Charlotte Lawrence: The Worst Age-Gap Sexual Affair

In July of 2020, we wrote a post about the age-gap affair between, then, 27-year-old singer-songwriter Charlie Puth and, then, 18-year-old singer-songwriter and model Charlotte Lawrence. 

In the post, which was a book review of My Dark Vanessa, a student-teacher age-gap book, that Lawrence did on Instagram Live with Kaia Gerber, we learned, per Capital FM, "The UK's No.1 Hit Music Station", that Puth was the inspiration for Lawrence's "Everybody Loves You".

Here are some of the lyrics to "Everybody Loves You" from the alluringly titled Young:

Charlotte elaborated with Kaia that "Everybody Loves You" is about her, in hindsight, "inappropriate and traumatizing and bad" affair with Puth:

"I wrote the song about, you know, an experience I had that - that was inappropriate and traumatizing and bad. And for awhile I always justified it and always thought that I was being crazy and it was okay because, you know, he was so popular and cool. Everybody loved him, and it was amazing. And, I don't know. One day I just woke up, and I was like, "No, that wasn't okay."

However, Lawrence is missing the point. A "popular" and "cool" person whom "everybody loved", can be immensely attractive to anyone - regardless of the age difference.

Not to be outdone, Olivia Craighead posted on Gawker "Charlie Puth Cries Fat Tears [via “That’s Hilarious”] Over Teen [Charlotte Lawrence] Who Dumped Him" (3-25-2022). Craighead embedded a TikTok on Gawker where Puth said that “That’s Hilarious” is s song about his affair with Lawrence, which he described as "the worst year of his life". And he described their breakup as "the worst breakup of my life”. 

Once again, Craighead appears to make the common mistake of determining that the reason Puth and Lawrence had such a bad breakup was solely due to their age difference. If Puth were 19, his age, most likely, would not have been a suspect in the breakup. On the contrary, it would have been assumed that he and/or Lawrence were, say, jerks. But since there was an age-gap, it's, by default, assumed that the age difference was the culprit.

Lastly, not to be outdone, Kaia Gerber has had her share of on and off-screen age-gap affairs. 

RED ROCKET (2021): The Making of a Texas Teen Porn Star

Richard Brody summarized Red Rocket well in his New Yorker review:

[...] [Simon] Rex’s character, Mikey Davies (whose porn name is Mikey Saber), travels by bus from Los Angeles to Texas City, where he drops in on his estranged wife and former onscreen partner, Lexi (Bree Elrod) [...] Mikey looks for work locally, but he has a seventeen-year gap on his résumé [...] Instead, Mikey reconnects with the head of the local marijuana trade [...] At a nearby doughnut shop, he meets a counter clerk and high-school student named Raylee (Suzanna Son), who calls herself Strawberry. She is seventeen—or, as Mikey crows, “legal as an eagle”—and he insistently pursues her. At first it’s just sex that he’s after, but then he decides to try to lure Strawberry to Los Angeles to act in porn, with him as her manager-slash-pimp [...]

In the film, shortly after Strawberry informed Mikey, "I'll be 18 in three weeks," and Mikey confirmed, "Legal as an eagle," Strawberry grabbed Mikey's penis behind Donut Hole's counter. 

Subsequently, Mikey had Strawberry cease having teen sex with Nash whom became "clingy ass fuck" after Strawberry "[...] blew him at junior prom." Consequently, Strawberry informed Nash, "I'm with him (i.e., Mikey) now," before she blew Mikey in her pickup truck. #swallow Later, Strawberry and Mikey had age-gap sex in the pickup truck's bed. (Pun intended.)

To the chagrin of (most) middle-aged women and teen boys, like a number of nymphets we've written about on this blog, Strawberry shared that she's a teleiophile and for attention, she and her teen friends posted nudes on Reddit, and she sold a nude for $60 via Venmo. 

Strawberry related to Mikey: 

"Let's just say, I like men - not boys." 

"I posted a nude online [...] This old guy in Ohio propositioned us to sell him a nude pic, and I did. And he Venmoed me 60 bucks [...] We were just trying to see how much attention we would get."

Strawberry invited Mikey to stay at her home for the weekend while her mother was away. "We've got the place to our own to fuck [...]," which they did. Initially, outside along the lakefront and then in Strawberry's bedroom where it was strategically filmed." In reference to the age-gap sex tape, Strawberry opined, "That's so hot."

I won't spoil the ending, but Strawberry informed her boss at the Donut Hole, "I'm going to L.A. with Mikey [to become a teen porn star]."

In her Nylon piece, ‘RED ROCKET’ STAR SUZANNA SON IS THE NEXT BIG THING (Dec 8, 2021), Sophia June asked Suzanna Son (Strawberry):

Q: Your character is so naive, but so confident and really bold and smart. Do you think she’s aware that Mikey is using her and is she using him?

A: She’s super aware of it. She waited on that roller coaster to tell him that because she’s screwing him as much as he’s screwing her. And truly, he’s the naive one. She’s two steps ahead. She might like to play that she is a little bit coy and shy and young, but that’s her weapon. She weaponizes her cuteness.

As hard as it is for (most) middle-aged women and teens boys to (openly) admit, nymphets can seduce men. And Son's assessment of Strawberry reminds me of novelist Robertson Davies' assessment of Lolita as: “[...] not [about] the corruption of an innocent child by a cunning adult, but [about] the exploitation of a weak adult by a corrupt child”. And Son reminded me of Mare of Mare of Easttown who said, "Trust me. Teenage girls are fucking sneaky."

Interestingly, of Mikey Saber, Brianna Zigler shared in her Gawker piece, "In ‘Red Rocket’, Mikey Saber Is a Very Bad Man: How refreshing" (Dec 10, 2021), that she found Mikey, refreshing, exhilarating and a hoot to root for:

It was both refreshing and exhilarating to watch an anti-hero go that low [...] it’s fun to root for a fictional character who is an endearing piece of shit, and boring to watch people become perfect moral agents.

Lastly, before it's release, Red Rocket was shown at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival where it was nominated for the Palme d'Or. And the Los Angeles Film Critics Association awarded 47-year-old Simon Rex Best Actor for his Mikey Saber portrayal. 

Celebrity Age-Gap Couple: Casey Affleck (46) & Caylee Cowan (23)

Jessica Bennett posted on Page Six (November 27, 2021) that "Casey Affleck, 46, goes Instagram-official with actress Caylee Cowan, 23". Of the celebrity age-gap couple, Bennett wrote:

Days after Page Six published first photos of Casey Affleck, 46, making out with actress Caylee Cowan, 23, the Oscar-winner has gone public with their relationship.

Affleck confirmed his romance with the young star (e.g., Willy Wonderland (2021)) in an Instagram post encouraging followers to donate blood to The Red Cross, referring to the beauty as “my love.”

“she is MY [young] Love, and she ALWAYS shows up when it counts…,” Affleck declared, while explaining Cowan’s own hesitation when it came to donating blood.

In addition, Bennett shared that Affleck's previous (longtime) girlfriend was 40-year-old actress Floriana Lima:

This latest post also officially confirms Affleck’s split from longtime girlfriend, actress Floriana Lima, 40. During their time together, the couple avoided the spotlight and rarely posted pics of each other to their respective social media pages.

But Claire Carusillo warned on Gawker "Watch Out Casey Affleck, Here Comes the Age Gap Police: The #MeToo survivor’s new girlfriend was born a year after his supporting turn in ‘Good Will Hunting’". (Nov 29, 2021) But Carusillo referred to the age-gap couple's love as "regular and true" and wished the famous age-gap couple all the best:

I think their love is regular and true, and if any jealous hag prudes come out decrying their age gap, I want you to know that I did graduate with a women’s studies degree from a mid-ranked liberal arts college in 2013, and I think this May-December romance is a total boon [...] I wish these two a normal relationship.
