Enjo Kosai (援助交際): Japanese High School Prostitutes

In an earlier post about the documentary Girl Model (2012) and in The Allure of Nymphets, I wrote about how, like the French and the Spanish, yet unlike North Americans and the British,  the Japanese are open about their attraction to nymphets or what it is referred to in Japan as Lolicon (ロリコン) (i.e. Lolita complex). However, in the post and in the book, I only touched the tip of the iceberg on the Japanese's allure of nymphets.

A 1997 New York Times article titled "Schoolgirls as Sex Toys" related:

In Tokyo there are now several hundred ''image clubs,'' where Japanese men pay $150 an hour to act out their fantasies with make-believe schoolgirls in make-believe classrooms, locker rooms or commuter trains. A customer may, for example, act the part of a teacher who walks into a classroom and tears the clothes off a schoolgirl. Or he may choose to fondle a schoolgirl on a crowded commuter train.

But Japanese men are not restricted to "make-believe schoolgirls". Like in Spain, the age-of-consent in Japan is 13; consequently, there are a number of Japanese prostitutes who are high school students by day, which is a practice that is referred to as enjo kosai (援助交際) in Japan.

For example, a 1996 Wall Street Journal article titled "Japan's New Growth Industry: Schoolgirl Prostitution" related:

Aya, now 15, says she started letting men touch her breasts two years ago for $100. Last October, she says she turned her first trick, with a man who approached her and a girlfriend on a Tokyo street and paid them about $500 apiece to have sex with him. She began commuting regularly from her suburban home to ply her body, lured by the cash that she spent on restaurants, miniskirts and trips to Tokyo Disneyland [...] Japanese teenagers have expensive tastes—$500 Prada purses and $350 Louis Vuitton wallets are hot teen items.

In a Newsweek article titled "Japan's Dirty Secret: Schoolgirls Selling Sex" the deputy director of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police juvenile division said, “It has to do with a longing for material things. It’s not that they come from poor families who need to support themselves. They just want to have more and more.”

Aya is part of what Japanese police are starting to call an epidemic: prostitution by schoolgirls. Police say they picked up 5,481 girls under 18 in Japan for prostitution and related activities last year, 38% more than two years earlier.

Shinji Miyadai, a sociologist at Tokyo Metropolitan University, estimates that 8% of schoolgirls nationwide—and one-third of girls at some schools that aren't geared toward the college-bound—are involved in the sex industry. 

Teen prostitution is particularly rife in Tokyo, where it is legal for adults to have sex with children over 12 and where prostitution isn't punishable unless arranged by a pimp. Tokyo police grumble that when they spot an older man and a young girl emerging from ubiquitous "love hotels," which rent rooms by the hour, all they can do is take names and ages and notify the girl's parents.

Don't be a feminist and blame the Japanese high school prostitute epidemic on "dirty old men". It's a two-way street. The high school prostitutes can be very aggressive in their pursuit of middle-aged johns. For example, the Wall Street Journal article further related :

Melon Club.. features a tiny one-way mirror looking in on a main room where girls wait...it looks like a slumber party: Six girls lounge on sofas, playing video games, putting on lipstick and reading comics...Splayed on the floor are the girls' Prada and Fendi bags.

Girls drift into the club and wait to be chosen by customers who pay $100, $50 of which goes to the girl, then go on a one-hour "date." Many girls say they give out their portable phone numbers and begin freelancing.One, who gives her name as Miki, says she can earn $150 to $200 a day at the club, whereas she would earn only $7 an hour dishing out ice cream.

Keiko S., 16, began calling a telephone club in elementary school. Now, she earns $800 to $1,000 a month from Melon and her freelancing. She has gone out with about 50 men who range in age from 20 to 60.

Now some girls bypass the clubs entirely, posting their cellular-phone and beeper numbers along Tokyo streets. Juvenile-police director Mr. Nishida, 58, says he has been solicited by schoolgirls while walking Tokyo's streets in plain clothes. Shopping arcades have begun posting signs ordering, "Do not write your phone or beeper number."

According to the article, it turns out that the high school prostitutes don't consider what they do to be prostitution:

The girls call their customers "Papasan" and don't speak of prostitution—to them it is just enjo kosai, or financially supported dating. Akiyoshi Ishibashi, a police psychologist in Tokyo, says half of the 400 teenage prostitutes he and other Tokyo psychologists have counseled extensively—most from middle-class families with two parents—don't feel prostitution is wrong.

Lolicon (ロリコン) and enjo kosai (援助交際) aren't kept secret in Japan. They're portrayed on mainstream television shows, movies, and anime.

For example, here's the plot summary for the Japanese movie series Stop the Bitch Campaign:

In Tokyo, prostitution in the name of "Enjo Kosai" is in fashion among some high school girls. A mysterious man, Kuni, laments such girls, but cannot deny a strong desire for them. He punishes the girls by having sex with them without paying. He calls this operation "Stop the Bitch Campaign" for public justice.

JT Brown shared this information in an article he wrote on Hackwriter about enjo kosai:

Internet match-making services exist in many countries. But they don’t quite shape up like this one [Japan]. Read the following quotations and facts found in a English language report on virtual dating sites, compiled and written this year by Japan’s National Police Agency.

Some typical messages posted in solicitation of sex: 

Males
"Will pay 50,000 yen maximum for Enjo Kosai."
"Awaiting messages from high school girls short in pocket money."

Females 

"Send me a mail if you can meet me Sunday for 30,000 yen."
"Buy my virginity. I’m an innocent 15 year old."

"I want to try real sex! I’m bored with playing with myself. Somebody with lots of money please make me feel good."

Some facts found in the report:

"93.8% cases of which the solicitation method is known, were initiated by female child."

"97 percent of cases with child prostitutes now involve cell phone dating services."
"83.1% of high school students, 23.1% of junior high own cellular phones"

It's clear what the current laws are in Japan concerning enjo kosai. There has been some legislation introduced concerning The Child Prostitution and Pornography Act and the Child Welfare Law, but I've read conflicting reports from a number of different sources. But JT Brown wrote that, "...enforcement of the laws on the books by Japan’s finest has always been a joke anyway."

I related in The Allure of Nymphets about pre-teen prostitutes in the United States prior to the change in the age-of-consent laws. And the subsequent rise in the number of teen prostitutes after the age-of-consent was raised. Here's an excerpt :

To give an example of how raunchy things got, Odem [author of Delinquent Daughters] related that during World War I, when the problem of female sexual delinquency assumed national proportions...a five-mile radius moral zone was implemented around military training camps. In those moral zones, alcohol and prostitution were prohibited. Surprisingly, the military discovered that it was not professional prostitutes who were loitering around military bases - it was teenage girls. Over the course of the war, approximately 30,000 young girls were apprehended for illicit activity, prostitution and suspicion of spreading venereal diseases.

You may not see many teen prostitutes openly on the streets in the United States anymore; however, you'll find a plethora of virtual teen prostitutes on the Internet where they'll do just about anything under the sun for virtual "tokens" or for attention. 

The Maiden Tribute of Modern Babylon: Teen Prostitutes in London

On this blog, I've written about teen prostitution in Japan, and in The Allure of Nymphets, I wrote about teen prostitution at the turn of the 20th century in the United States, but this will be my first full foray into teen prostitution in Europe.

"The Maiden Tribute of Modern Babylon" was a series of shocking Pall Mall Gazette articles written in 1885 by W.T. Stead about the proliferation of teen prostitution in Victorian England. Here are some highlights lowlights:

Part I

W.T. Stead estimated that London had approximately 50,000 prostitutes. Stead's concern wasn't prostitution itself, but the fact that many of the prostitutes were early teens, poor and were being taken advantage of by the rich. Furthermore, Stead opined that the issue was "an affair for the moralist, not for the legislator."  However, as a result of Stead's exposé, he was arrested and the Criminal Law Amendment Act of 1885 raised the age of consent from 13 to 16.

Stead witnessed the following crimes that were "constantly and systematically" committed in London by "the noblest and the meanest of mankind, the saviours and the destroyers of their race, [by] spending hours alternatively in brothels and hospitals, in the streets and in refuges...":

1. The sale and purchase and violation of children
2. The ("full operation") procuration (and "violation") of virgins ("mostly of tender age")
3. The entrapping and ruin of women
4. The international slave trade in girls
5. Atrocities, brutalities, and unnatural crimes

Stead related that the above crimes were committed with "almost absolute impunity" and that the "arrangements for procuring, certifying, violating...and disposing" of the nymphets was efficiently simple. However, organized crime gangs didn't run underage prostitution rings. The nymphets were procured, just like in present day Japan, mostly by "the seduction of individuals or by the temptation which well-dressed vice (e.g. money, fashion, etc.) can offer the poor."

One of the reasons for the impunity was that the police were often well aware of the nymphet prostitution. For example, an experienced officer confided in Stead that "...a general article, I mean, not a mere prostitute tricked out as a virgin, but a girl who had never been seduced" could be obtained for £20 (Approximately, £1,859.36 today).

Typically, the unsuspecting nubile nymphets would be summoned by "keepers of brothels" or experienced nymphets to rooms where wealthy ephebophiles would be waiting to take their virginity. 

The officer correctly stated that that scenario will continue, "...as long as men have money, procuresses are skillful, and women are weak and inexperienced."

Part 2

In part two of the exposé, Stead wrote that because the age of consent was 13, the unsuspecting teen prostitutes "... were almost always very young children between the ages of thirteen and fifteen" and were "fair game for dissolute men."

Stead elaborated on how the girls were seduced or went willingly into teen prostitution:

1. A girl would be told by a procuress or an experienced teen prostitute that if she met " ...a rich gentlemen she would get lots of money." 

2. Other nymphets would temp teens with "promises of dress and money". 

3. Young maidens would be promised marriage only to be "deserted" after their virginity was taken. 

4. Some teens became full-time prostitutes to escape "sheer poverty and absolute despair" 

5. Other teens became part-time prostitutes to supplement "scanty wages".

6. Advertisements were placed for housekeepers (i.e., brothel-keepers), which were often answered by unsuspecting young girls from country villages. 

Here are two examples from two early teen virgins, 15 and 13, respectively, whom were brought into prostitution by experienced teen prostitutes:

It was about two months since I was seduced. A friend of mine, Jane B––, met me one evening in the street near our house, and asked me if I would go for a walk with her. I said yes, and she proposed to come and have an ice at the very restaurant in which we are now sitting. "It is such a famous shop for ices," she said, "and perhaps we shall see my uncle." I did not know her uncle, nor did I think anything about it, but I walked down to Leicester-square to the restaurant. She asked me to come upstairs to a sitting-room, where we had some ices and some cake. After a time a gentleman came in, whom she said was her uncle; but I found out afterwards he was no more her uncle than I was. He asked us to have some wine and something to eat, and we sat eating and drinking. I had never tasted wine before, but he pressed it on me, and I took one glass and then another, until I think I had four glasses. My head got very queer, and I hardly knew what I did. Then my friend said, ."Annie, you must come upstairs now." "What for?" I said. "Never mind what for," she said ; "you will get lots of money." My head was queer; I did not care what I did, but I remember thinking that it was after no good this going upstairs. She insisted, however, and I went upstairs. The man she called her uncle followed us. She began to undress me. "What are you doing that for?" Isaid. "You shan't undress me. I don't want to be undressed here." I struggled, and then everything went dizzy. I remember nothing more till I woke and found that I had been undressed and put in bed. The man was in bed with me. I screamed, and begged him to go away. He paid no heed to me, and began to hurt me dreadfully. "Keep quiet, you silly girl," said ––––, who stood by the bed; "you will get lots of money." Oh, I was frightened, and the man hurt me so much! But I could do nothing. When it was all over the man gave her £4 (£372 today). She gave me half and kept the other half for herself, as her pay for getting me seduced. I do not know who the man was, and I have never seen him since.

One night a girl I knew came and spoke to me. "Will you come and see a gentleman?" she said. "Me see a gentleman–what do you mean?" said I. "Oh, I forgot," she says; "will you come and take a walk?" I had no objection, so we went for a walk. After a while, she proposed we should go into a house in P–– street and get something to eat. We went in, and after we had been there a little time in came a gentleman. He sat down and talked a bit, and then my friend says, "Take off your things, Lizzie." "No, I won't," I said. "Why should I take off my things?" "Don't be a fool," says she, "and do as I tell you, you will get lots of money;" and she began to undress me. I objected, but she was older than I, and stronger, and the man took her side. "Now," she said after she had undressed me, "get into bed with you." "What for?" says I, "for I had no idea what she meant." "Do as I tell you, you little fool, or I will knock you[r] head off you. This gentleman will give you lots of money, pounds and pounds, if you are good; but he won't give you a penny if you are stupid." And she half forced me, half persuaded me, to get into bed. Then the gentleman got into bed. I did not know what he wanted. I was very frightened, and was crying bitterly. Then he began to hurt me, and I yelled at the top of my voice. Madame who kept the house heard me scream, and she came running up. "Vot is you a doin to that von leetle girl ?" she asked. "Nothing," said the man; "she has only run a pin into her foot;" and my friend whispered, "Only keep quiet and you shall have it all. I will give you all the money. But mind you won't get off, no matter how you scream." Madame went away, and the man finished me. He gave me £3 (£279 today).

Interestingly, Stead noted that despite their entry point, the girls often returned voluntarily to teen prostitution.

Part 3

As sort of a side note, Stead mentioned that despite the fact that there weren't a lot of prostitutes below the age of thirteen, according to the Report of the Dwellings Commission, "There are children, many children, who are ruined before they are thirteen; but the crime is one phase of incest..."

However, there were approximately 10,000 juvenile prostitutes between the ages of thirteen and fifteen in "Christian England".

Stead was an investigative journalist and didn't restrict his investigating to mere interviews, he went into brothels to get first hand accounts of the affairs. For example, after the keeper at an upscale brothel in the West end "...strenuously denied that they had any such article in the house", Stead was introduced to "a lovely child between fourteen and fifteen, tall for her age, but singularly attractive in her childish innocence".

Stead stressed that since the age of consent was thirteen, it was extremely difficult to prosecute rapists. For instance, a fifty-year-old man "violated more than a dozen children just over thirteen, whom he had enticed into backyards by promises of sweetmeats" but wasn't prosecuted until he was "fortunately caught with a girl under thirteen, and was promptly punished."

On the advice of Dr. Lowndes, "a medical man", Stead (incorrectly) championed for an increase in the age of consent, because "so few girls are really aptae-viro, physically and medically, till long after thirteen."

As previously mentioned, many seduced teens ironically volunteered to return to prostitution due to the "promises of dress and money". Consequently, they were "...qmore difficult to deal with than women, because they are made familiar with sin while so young that the modesty that is so natural to a woman they never attain."

Part 4

Part four of the report was an exposé of police corruption. Stead related that a number of policemen took bribes to look the other way, facilitated and/or partook in the services of the teen prostitutes.

Clearly, teen prostitution is still going on today and rich ephebophiles are taking advantage of the business (no pun intended) and it should be clear that raising the age of consent isn't a viable solution. Some would recommend even lowering the age of consent, but making pre-marital sex a felony. That way we would have more harems and less brothels. The fact of the matter is that ephebophiles are going to have sex with nymphets one way or the other. The only other "option" is teen pornography, which with the invention of the webcam has become the new brothel.

LAW & ORDER: SVU | A Catholic Church Teen Prostitution Ring

Here's IMDb's summary for Law & Order: SVU "Manhattan Transfer" (s17e17):

While SVU investigates a pair of vice cops found in the middle of an underage prostitution sting involving high-ranking public officials, the team discovers that a priest may be involved in a high school sex trafficking ring.

Near the beginning of the episode, Officer Benson shared with ADA Barba that SVU raided an upscale teen prostitution party:

Officer Benson: "We responded to a tip that underage girls would be at a sex party and in attendance was Bronx ADA Winn, two assemblymen, a retired D.A. investigator, a councilman, and I'm sure that you recognize."

ADA Barba: "Judge Wheeler. Why am I not surprised?"

Nina Kelly, a nun, was at the sex party too. As well as, detectives Russo and Jefferson. Sister Kelly was working undercover to breakup the teen prostitution ring. Detectives Russo and Jefferson were supposed to be working undercover to breakup the teen prostitution ring, but they couldn't resist the allure of nymphets. 

Cara, a 16-year-old prostitute and student at St. Fabiola's - an all-girl's parochial high school in the South Bronx, alleged that detectives Russo and Jefferson would arrive early to the sex parties and force her and other nymphets to perform oral sex. 

And of detectives Russo and Jefferson, Sister Kelly confessed: "They're not cops. They're rapists."

Interestingly, Officer Benson opined that the girls were victims of [statutory] rape and were sex trafficked, but Captain Gerbic rebutted that that girls were not victims but were willing teen prostitutes. 

Officer Benson: "But underage girls are still being [statutory] raped and trafficked."

Captain Gerbic: "Well, where SVU sees victims, we see willing participants. These girls are not exactly madonnas."

In what we view as a bit of racism slash classism, BX9, a south Bronx based street gang, were initially suspected of running the teen prostitution ring. 

But we learned in episode 18, "Unholiest Alliance", that the prostitution ring was operated by Bishop Catalano, Monsignor Mulregan and Father Eugene - for over 20 years. 

The "Unholiest Alliance" of the Catholic Church procured and provided teen prostitutes to ADAs, assemblymen, D.A. investigators, councilmen, lawyers and judges - to name a few. 

And the "Unholiest Alliance" couldn't resist the allure of nymphets too. We learned from former nymphets that Bishop Catalano and Monsignor Mulregan made Catholic schoolgirls sit on their laps - in the nude. The schoolgirls were touched in a[n] "[un]G_dly manner". And they were made to pose naked and "perform sex acts" on the Bishop and Monsignor.

Lastly, in another bit of racism slash classism, the episodes stressed that the teen prostitutes were from the south Bronx, but let us not forget that teen prostitutes can be from the UES and Rome's wealthiest district too. 

Netflix's BABY (2019): Schoolgirl Teen Prostitutes in Rome

We were doing some research on the second season of Big Mouth (2019) when Netflix suggested the second season of Baby (2019). We were charmed by the thumbnail, intrigued by the plot summary, and entertained by the trailer. And absorbed by Emily Tannenbaum's Cosmopolitan article "The True Story Behind Netflix's 'Baby' Is Even More Disturbing Than the Show".

Here's Netflix's plot summary: At an exclusive private high school, student athlete Chiara forges an unlikely bond with rebellious classmate Ludovica [...].

But it wasn't until we read Tannenbaum's article that we realized that the "unlikely bond" between Chiara and Ludovica is teen prostitution and that the teen drama is based on a true story - the 'Baby Squillo' (i.e., baby prostitute) scandal.

Tannenbaum shared:

[...] Baby is a grime-stained window into the lives of various students who attend an exclusive Roman high school. Mostly, the series focuses on Chiara (Benedetta Porcaroli) and Ludovica (Alice Pagani), who turn to high-end prostitution to make money.

THE TRUE STORY: Back in 2014, it was discovered [...] that two high school girls in the wealthy district of Parioli, Rome were selling their bodies [like (some) Japanese schoolgirls] for sex in order to buy luxury products like designer clothes and electronics [...] [A] dozen more girls were involved in the underage prostitution ring, but it "centers on a 14-year-old [Agnese] and a 16-year-old [Angela] who told investigating prosecutor Cristina Macchiusi that they got into the game by searching 'easy money' on Google."

A number of men, including a descendant of Mussolini, were arrested for not being able to resist the allure of Italian nymphet prostitutes, but (unsurprisingly) none of the teen prostitutes were arrested.

And just like Demi Moore's mother, Agnese's mother encouraged men to exchange sex for money with her teen daughter.

In addition, Tannenbaum wrote that: "[...] Baby has been the subject of massive pushback from the National Center on Sexual Exploitation for "glamorizing" the true story of the 'Baby Squillo' scandal [...]" In response to the pushback, Netflix Vice President of International Originals Kelly Luegenbiehl said, “The first thing that we are always looking for is authenticity, and this show has that."

In addition to schoolgirl prostitution, two other motifs stood out from Baby: raunchy Rome based prep school students and materialism. For example, the directors made it a point to show Roman teens in thongs.

And there were some notable quotes about teen prostitution from the series. For instance, Chiara shared with Ludovica that she liked how a john treated her like an adult, "He treated me like a grown up."

One of the Roman pimps said in reference to Chiara and Ludovica, "We're helping them do something they freely chose to do. Did I force them to come here tonight? [...] Of course not."

When a john asked Ludovica, "Sorry, but how old are you?"

Ludovica replied, "Do you want me to be a little girl or a big girl?"

john, "Thanks, but I don't go with minors. Sorry."

Ludovica replied, "What's the problem? It's consensual." Thereby, dispelling the principle held my many that a teen can't consent to underage prostitution.

A non-teen prostitute asked Chiara a rhetorical question about why Chiara volunteered to be a teen prostitute and she answered that Chiara did it because Chiara liked being a teen prostitute, Chiara liked feeling in control, she liked that she could do whatever she pleased, and she liked feeling powerful.

And Chiara shared with a classmate, "It might sound crazy, but sometimes I feel more comfortable with them [i.e., older johns] than with guys our age."

Lastly, per Netflix Italia's Twitter page, season 3 of Baby is scheduled to begin streaming in September.

BABY Season 3: "Child [Teen] Prostitution in Rome's Wealthiest District"

We wrote previously about seasons 1 and 2 of Netflix's Baby, which is based on the 2014 true story of teen prostitutes in Parioli, Rome:

THE TRUE STORY form Cosmopolitan's Emily Tannenbaum: Back in 2014, it was discovered [...] that two high school girls in the wealthy district of Parioli, Rome were selling their bodies [like (some) Japanese schoolgirls] for sex in order to buy luxury products like designer clothes and electronics [...] [A] dozen more girls were involved in the underage prostitution ring, but it "centers on a 14-year-old [Agnese] and a 16-year-old [Angela] who told investigating prosecutor Cristina Macchiusi that they got into the game by searching 'easy money' on Google."

Season 3 of Baby is the conclusion of the series and depicts the (seeming) end of the Roman teen prostitution ring. For this post, I decided to relate some relevant quotes from Ludovica Storti and Chiara Altieri - the two high school students by day and teen prostitutes by evening. 

Interestingly, Chiara admitted that she knew what she was doing, and like 14-year-old [Agnese] and a 16-year-old [Angela], the real-life teen prostitutes, Chiara stated that no one forced her into teen prostitution and that she was not a victim. However, unlike the real-life teen prostitutes, Ludovica lied and said that she was "seduced and manipulated" by a Roman pimp. Unsurprisingly, in the series, the authorities disbelieved Chiara and believed Ludovica. 

S03E01: Ludovica admitted that her mother knew that she as a teen prostitute. And Chiara shared that being a teen prostitute made her feel "stronger" and "good".

Ludovica Storti [teen prostitute]: "Why are you acting like this? You knew what I was doing."

Simonetta [Ludovica's mother]: "I never imagined that you'd go this far."

Chiara Altieri [teen prostitute]: "Having a secret made me feel stronger [...] I know it's wrong. That it's horrible. But it makes me feel good."

S03E02: When a middle-aged john asked Chiara why she "does what she does", she simply replied, "Tomorrow after school."

middle-aged john: "I just want to know why a girl like you does what she does."

Chiara: "Tomorrow after school."

S03E03: When Elsa, Chiara's mother, implied that Chiara didn't realize what she was doing, Chiara replied that she as a "whore" - a [teen] "prostitute". And Chiara informed a confused john's wife, "But I'm not a victim." 

Chiara: "What do you want from me? To give up like you and be a good little girl?"

Elsa [Chiara's mother]: "You've no idea what you're doing."

Chiara: "Yes I do [...] I'm a whore - a [teen] prostitute!"

elderly john's wife: "Has he ever made you do anything against your will?"

Chiara: "No. Whenever I saw him it was because I wanted to see him [...] I was free to choose [...] I'm sorry about your husband. But I'm not a victim."

S03E04: When an attorney told Chiara that she was "exploited" and taken "full advantage " of,  Chiara responded by stating that she wanted to take "responsibility" for her actions.

attorney: "[...] those men, Chiara, were adults [...] They exploited a young girl. They took full advantage of you in your moment of weakness [...]"

Chiara: "I wanted to take responsibility."

S03E05: Unsurprisingly, a police officer assumed that Chiara and Ludovica were forced into teen prostitution and thereby offered to let them escape. 

Police officer to : "[...] I won't tell anyone I found you."

S03E06: In the last episode, Ludovica lied and said that she was "seduced and manipulated" by a Roman pimp, but Chiara admitted that she had sex with middle-aged men on her "own free will."

lawyer: "So to be clear. You decided to go back to Mr. Fiorenzi [a pimp] based on the advice you got from your mother and best friend [Chiara]"

Lastly, just like in seasons 1 and 2, season 3 of Baby took full advantage of the allure of nymphets by showing Chiara and Ludovica in alluring situations. In addition to Chiara being with a number of middle-aged johns, in episode 3 Chiara (randomly) masturbated (in a chair), and in episode 5, Chiara and Ludovica went for a swim in the sea - in their bras and panties.

THE TEENAGE PROSTITUTION RACKET (1975): An Aunt Prostitutes Sexulized Italian Teen

Storie di vita e malavita (Racket della prostituzione minorile) [English title: The Teenage Prostitution Racket (1975)] portrays six teen prostitutes. 

In the first story, via hitchhiking, an elderly aunt procured a john for her nymphet niece. Once the truck driver stopped, the elderly aunt gave the teen prostitute and the middle-aged john some privacy. Consequently, the teen removed her white cotton underwear, which the aunt previously flashed to entice the truck driver, but the john nervously settled for oral sex. After the john was done, the aunt gave her niece a beverage to rinse her mouth and the john paid the aunt. "Grazie!"

As we viewed the film without subtitles or dubbing, lets reference IMDb\Lazarillo for a description for the next five stories:

In the longest and most touching story, a naive sixteen-year-old orphan comes to Milan to work in her cousin's sweatshop and is seduced into prostitution by a smooth-talking pimp who promises to marry her. 

In another, more preposterous story another teen is actually a virgin from a respectable family, but after she is tricked into taking off her clothes and photographed at a swinging party, she is blackmailed into becoming a pro, "pleasing" her male clients in ways that don't technically compromise her virginity [...] 

Another girl takes up prostitution to rebel against her father, who she finds out is himself patronizing teen hookers her age. 

Another girl is a man-hating lesbian [...] 

First scene of the film reminded me of Demi Moore who shared in her memoir, Inside Out, that when she was a 15, her mother paraded her in bars. Unable to resist the allure of a nymphet, an approximately 48-year-old wealthy Greek man paid Demi's mother $500 to have sex with the future film star. Subsequently, the man asked Demi, "How does it feel to be whored out [by your mother] for $500?" 

And I was reminded of a story published in the New York Daily News about a mother who was arrested in 2014 for allegedly traveling from Florida to New York City to prostitute her 15-year-old daughter during Super Bowl XLVIII.

CHLOE (1996): A Tricked French Teen Prostitute

Here's Amazon's synopsis for Chloé (1996): 

Highly controversial and previously unavailable in North America, Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard sizzles as the young and naive high school student named Chloé. Her desire for a new and exciting life leads her to a charming stranger [i.e., a pimp] in the streets of Paris.

The focus of this, made for television, French film appears to be on the nymphet being deceived into prostitution and her pimp's treacherous and pitiless behavior. 

But what appears to be overlooked in this film is that 15-year-old Chloé fell madly in love with Jean-Michel (37-year-old Jean-Claude Adelin), the "charming stranger", before she discovered that he was a pimp. Subsequently, after giving her virginity to Jean-Michel. Chloé began prostituting to help her older lover financially, which is not an unheard of way for teens to enter prostitution. 

Like Chloé, some teens are hoodwinked into prostitution, some nymphets enter into teen prostitution voluntarily, while some are not given a choice - by their mothers. 

Unsurprisingly, Chloé, despite her premium price due to her youth, was very popular with the French johns. And her pimp even arranged to have her sold to some Swedes!

Netflix's JEFFREY EPSTEIN: FILTHY RICH (Episode 1) | Reaction: Molested Survivors Versus Teen Prostitute Survivors

Episode 1 of Netflix's Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich opened with an important confession from Epstein:

Lawyer: "Have you ever been convicted of a crime?"

Epstein: "Yes."

Lawyer: "What was the crime of which you were convicted?"

Epstein: "[...] procuring a minor for prostitution"

Epstein's confession that he was convicted of procuring a minor for prostitution is important, because one can't be convicted of procuring a minor for prostitution if there aren't any minor (i.e., teen) prostitutes. 

A mistake this documentary series makes is labeling all of the nymphets involved with the Epstein case as survivors/victims when there should be (at least) two categories: molested/sexually assaulted survivors and teen prostitute survivors. 

Let's look at two examples from the molested/sexually assaulted survivors category:

At the New York Academy of Art graduation night art show (1995), Eileen Guggenheim, the former dean of students, literally twisted Maria Farmer's arm and demanded that she sell one of her "Alice in Wonderland" paintings to Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, Guggenheim's "dear friends", at a 50% discount. 

Two months later, Epstein gave Maria at job at his New York City mansion, and Maria introduced Epstein to Annie Farmer - Maria's 16-year-old sister. 

At Epstein's Zorro ranch in New Mexico, Annie alleged that Maxwell massaged Annie's nude breasts while Epstein looked on and that the following morning Epstein cuddled with Annie - without her consent. 

The following year, Epstein and Maxwell, asked Maria to do an artist-in-residency in a 26,000 square foot home behind Les Wexner's house in New Albany, Ohio. For an unexplained reason, Maria decided to do a series of paintings "[...] about puberty - girls partially nude [in] voyeuristic kind of private moments but not sexual." The painting were based on nude photographs that Maria took of her nymphet sisters. For example, Annie was 12-years-old in her nude photograph. 

After Maxwell informed Maria that Epstein would like to have his feet rubbed, Maria alleged that Epstein and Maxwell massaged her breasts - without her consent. 

Subsequently, Maria said that she informed the NYPD, who directed her to the FBI, that she was assaulted by Epstein and Maxwell, but nothing came of it until Maria was contacted by Vicky Ward who was writing a Vanity Fair profile on Epstein. Ultimately and inexplicably, Vanity Fair did not include the sisters' stories of being molested by Epstein and Maxwell in the profile. 

Now let's take a look at the teen prostitute survivors:

The special investigation unit of the Palm Beach Police Department (PBPD) began investigating Epstein after a parent reported to the police that her 14-year-old step-daughter was found with $300 that she earned from giving Epstein a massage. 

This next point is important. 19-year-old Heather confessed to a detective that she was introduced to Epstein, "Through a friend. About two years ago." Thus, she was recruited by another teen, and she went back and forth to Epstein's house for two years.

Interestingly, when asked how she was introduced to Epstein, Michelle Licata shared with a detective that her friend informed her in class that she could make $200 for Christmas by massaging Epstein for 45 minutes. 16-year-old Licata replied, "Okay. That seems weird, but okay." Upon arriving at Epstein's mansion, Licata's friend urged Licata to lie about her age. 

Shawna Rivera first met Epstein after Rivera's friend, a repeat visitor to Epstein's residence, picked Rivera up at her modest West Palm Beach home where the 14-year-old nude nymphets gave Epstein a massage. Some time later, upon Epstein's request, Rivera took a cab back to Epstein's. Why? Rivera shared, "I assumed if I went back, I would get more money."

Prostitutes prostitute for a variety of reasons. For example, Rivera said that she went to Epstein's for over three years, because she was poor. Some of the more wealthy teen prostitutes in Italy and Japan do it for luxury goods. But the fact remains that they're (teen) (consensual) prostitutes. 

Dr. Kathryn Stamoulis, an adolescent sexuality psychologist, erroneously stated that Epstein, "[...] targeted girls that [sic] were so vulnerable. And this is something that most sexual predators do [...] The first step in the grooming process is spotting a vulnerable victim - someone who is financially disadvantaged or that [sic] already have some sexual trauma in their past. Sexual predators like Jeffrey Epstein have an eye for picking out someone who is in need of something and they identify that need, and then they exploit it [...]"

This is erroneous, because, per the documentary, Epstein didn't "target" the nymphets. The Palm Beach nymphets were targeted by other Palm Beach nymphets. Eileen Guggenheim introduced Maria Farmer to Epstein. And Vicky Ward shared of Ghislaine Maxwell, "She was a great connector for Jeffery."

Haley Robson shared that she was introduced to Epstein by a high school friend when she was 16-years-old who informed Robson that she could earn $200 per massage. Robson shared that her immediate reaction was, "This is my ticket out of West Palm - this is my way out." But interestingly, and in contrast to Dr. Stamoulis' expertise, Robson was a competitive equestrian and Robson's mother was a banker and her father was a police officer. However, Robson did share that she was raped when she was 15 by a 21-year-old man. She shared, "It was my first experience with a man." But she didn't shared if it was statutory rape or violent rape. Alan Dershowitz argued that there's an important distinction between the two. 

Robson shared with a detective that after Epstein touched her with his hands and a vibrator in inappropriate places, she rejected his advances, but she volunteered to deliver him nymphets for $200 per head. 

Detective: The girl that was going knew she would have to massage him?

Robson: She knew everything. 

Detective: How long have you been working for him?

Robson: I probably worked for him for a year.

Robson went on to share with the documentarians, "I probably recruited maybe 24 girls."

Robson: Those girls brought other girls, too. 

Detective: Okay.

Robson: So, it's like a train.

Detective: Who else was underage?

Robson: Under 18? All of them. 

Robson to documentarians, "I would recruit girls that were friends. I would just casually bring it up. And we would drive together to his house. I would take them to the room, and then I would walk out. Sometimes I would wait out by the pool. When the girls would leave, Jeffery would come outside to pay me [...]"

Detective: "At this point, you've clearly implicated yourself in a crime. Okay? You've taken girls to somebody's house for the purposes of [teen] prostitution [...] Now that's a pretty significant second-degree felony."

Robson correctly asked the documentarians, "What about the girl who recruited me. What happened to her? What about the girl that recruited the girl that recruited me?"

However, Dr. Stamoulis inexplicably opined, "The girls that [sic] are recruiting the other girls are definitely victims of Jeffery Epstein [...]"

But some, like Stuart Pivar, co-founder of New York Academy of Art, opine that the nymphet recruiters were criminals, like Epstein, who recruited nymphets for the purposes of consensual teen prostitution, but who were given a reprieve by the PBPD for their help in Epstein's investigation.
