ORGY MAID by Robert Silverberg: Does Incest Lead to Lesbianism (Homosexuality)?

The second edition of The Allure of Nymphets will include a chapter titled "The Dark Side of Ephebophilia". In the chapter, I've written about how a man's ephebophilia will come out one way or the other. For example, if it's not done by marrying a nymphet à la  Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Blue Beardit may come out precariously. For example, via student-teacher affairs and teen pornography. But just as often, ephebophila\hebephilia comes out illegally via rape and\or incest.

Marth Barret related in her book Invisible Lives that Sarah Pearlman, a therapist based in Boston, said, “In clinical practice you see a higher incidence of [sexual] abuse and incest among lesbians.” According to Loise Kaplan Pd.D, who is a New York City based psychoanalyst and author of Female Perversions, in approximately 98% of the reported cases of incest, the father sexually molested his young daughter. In addition, Joan J. Johnson shares in Teen Prostitution that incest could involve the step-father, brother, uncle, cousin or grandfather. Lastly, according to Juveniles in Prostitution: Fact vs. Fiction, seven out of every eight victims of incest are females.

Thus, I can confidently relate several astonishing points:

  1. The majority of (butch) lesbians were molested.
  2. The majority of (butch) lesbians were molested by a relative.
  3. The majority of (butch) lesbians were molested when they were pre-teens or teens (i.e., nymphets.)
(The same points apply to homosexuals. The majority of homosexuals were molested when they were pre-teens/teens by a male relative.)

Orgy Maid by Robert Silverberg (pseud. Don Elliott) is yet another example of art imitating life. In the novella, twelve-year-old Lonnie Garth is continuously raped, sometimes via double-penetration, by her brother-in-laws. And the nymphet's drunken father-in-law forces himself upon her as well.

But Lonnie's rapes weren't anomalies. On page five of the book it states:

In the hill country of Tennessee, where Lonnie Garth was born, they have a quaint little folk saying about virginity. “A virgin,” they say, “is a five-year-old girl who can outrun her daddy and her brothers.”

Lonnie was a fast runner. That’s how come her virginity lasted all the way to the age of twelve. And, at twelve, she was about the oldest virgin in town.

On page thirty-one Lonnie was told, "You been getting loved since you were six, I bet. Your brothers and your old man got there first."

Eventually, just like a number of women in The Secret Garden, Lonnie fantasized about being raped by her brother-in-law. For example, in the novella it states "... deep down, she had wanted to be raped by Gary Holston, she had wanted to be known by some man not her husband, somebody with Gary's elemental ferocity and force."

Unsurprisingly, twelve-year-old Lonnie even began to relish lipstick lesbian sex after her brother-in-laws forced her to have sex with a "slim, sixteen-year-old redhead named Peg Marron" who had "... lavishly voluptuous buttocks of a Rubens nude".

Orgy Maid is considered to be in the vintage sleaze genre, but you may be shocked to learn that the novella was written by Robert Silverberg (pseud.Don Elliott) who is a Brooklyn born graduate of Columbia University with a B.A. in English Literature and a multiple winner of the Hugo and Nebula Awards.

I've reviewed other mainstream teen and adult novels such as Lauren Myracle's TTYL and Philip Roth's The Humbling that rivals Orgy Maid in its graphic teen sex scenes. Therefore, an additional question is, who determines which books are considered sleaze and which are considered literature?
