ROGER FISHBITE: Nymphets in Catholic School Uniforms & Teen Oral Sex for Jewelry

Here's part of Amazon's review of Emily Prager's Roger Fishbite:

Lucky Linderhof, a 12-year-old latter-day Lolita born of the privileged sperm club, lives in New York with her affectionate but ineffectual mother, a woman who changes her lovers as quickly as she changes her designer clothes.

Abandoned by her father, Lucky seeks a symbolic replacement among her mother's boyfriends--but when the piranha lodger Roger Fishbite moves in, she ends up with a father figure who becomes a lover.

The Author Note states:

This novel is in part a literary parody of that great work Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. It is my reply both to the book and the icon that the character Lolita has become.

Prager may have given an appropriate example of an ephebophile in the novel. She wrote:

"No, this man [i.e., a nympholept] is a special man, a man for whom a Catholic school uniform, even on a mannequin, does more than a whole album of grown-up nudes."

That may be an hyperbole, but it's closer than further from the truth.

Roger may have non-verbally expressed his attraction for Lucky, but she made the first (physical) move when she: "[...] leaped up and kissed him square on the mouth."  Lucky kissed her mother's lover for dresses, gave him hugs for CDs, and performed oral sex for jewelry.

However, Lucky repeatedly teased Roger when he wanted to make love: "Lose my virginity to you? What's in it for me?" Lucky asked.

But Lucky became livid with jealousy and took matters into her own hands, after she read in Roger's journal that he made love to Evie a, "[...] hot as a pistol" 11-year-old model whom he was shocked was not a virgin.

Andrea Higbie opined in her New York Times Book Review: "Here Prager has captured an essential truth of childhood [...]

Lauren Myracle's TTYL: Squirting Teens & Topless Nymphets

Before we read Lauren Myracle's ttyl, I didn't realize that the book was on the American Library Association's list of books people wanted to ban. Of course, we read it to review the relationship between Mr. H, the English teacher, and Zoe, his 15-year-old student, but we were surprised when we read in the Young Adult (YA) book that:
  1. 15-year-old Angela was excited about the opportunity to fantasize about her classmate's "summer sausage"
  2. 15-year-old Margaret, "[...] ejaculates [...] [and] she squirts when she comes."
  3. 15-year-old Angela wanted to have a relationship with a bohemian Georgia State University (GSU) student, but he already had Leslie, a fellow GSU student, and more importantly, he didn't realize that Angela had a crush on him.
  4. 15-year-old Maddie danced topless on a table at a GSU frat party as camera phones snapped away.
In terms of the teacher/student relationship, Zoe was initially attracted to her teacher because, "[...] he's NICE. cuz he treated me like i was a person instead of a kid. that what was so great - we were just ppl having a discussion."

They went out several times, but when Mr. H, wearing a pair of Speedos, invited Zoe to join him in the hot tube, she became "paralyzed", and she ended the relationship.

The fact that ttyl is a YA book is very telling.

End of Alice by A.M. HOMES

At the very end of the story, during his parole hearing, we find out the convict brutally murdered and decapitated Alice after she blamed him for her bleeding, which was actually her period (she didn't know what it was). Book Description (Amazon): The name of Giacomo Casanova, Chevalier de Seingalt (1725-98), is now synonymous with amorous exploits [with young women], and there are plenty of these, vividly narrated, in his memoirs. But Casanova was not just an energetic lover. In his time he was a diplomat, businessman, trainee priest, traveler, prisoner, magician, confidence man, gambler, professional entertainer, and charlatan. He financed business projects, organized lotteries, wrote opera libretti, and dabbled in high politics. Above all he was an autobiographer of enduring brilliance and subtlety who left behind him what is probably the most remarkable confession ever written.

Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice

Amazon Review (Patrick O'Kelley): In the now-classic novel Interview with the Vampire, Anne Rice refreshed the archetypal vampire myth for a late-20th-century audience. The story is ostensibly a simple one: having suffered a tremendous personal loss, an 18th-century Louisiana plantation owner named Louis Pointe du Lac descends into an alcoholic stupor. At his emotional nadir, he is confronted by Lestat, a charismatic and powerful vampire who chooses Louis to be his fledgling. The two prey on the innocent, give their "dark gift" to a young girl, and seek out others of their kind (notably the ancient vampire Armand) in Paris.

Innocents by Cathy Coote

Book Description (Amazon): Written when Cathy Coote was nineteen, Innocents is a taut, wickedly clever descent into the anatomy of an obsession, the debut of a precociously assured and provocative young literary voice. Forcing someone vulnerable and naive into a sexual relationship to satisfy a twisted desire is perverted, even evil. But when the perpetrator is a sixteen-year-old schoolgirl, is she culpable? And if the victim is her thirty-four-year-old teacher, shouldn't he have known better? When the nameless young narrator of Innocents decides to seduce her teacher, she immediately realizes that the power of her sexuality is greater than she ever imagined. She leaves the aunt and uncle who are her guardians and moves in with her teacher; together, they quickly embark on a journey into their darkest desires. Interview with the Vampire Anne Rice

Lo’s Diary by Pia Pera

Book Description (Amazon): Now, in Pia Pera's controversial new book, Lolita speaks for herself in her own naked voice. Listening to her tale, readers enter a universe in which events, apparently the same as in Nabokov's novel, are radically different. Truths clash, collide, and ultimately diverge. Nabokov's Lolita is not Lolita's story, but her seducer's. The Lolita of that novel is a projection of Humbert's erotic imagination. Lo's Diary tells her story in her own voice, bringing into question the version told by her seducer in his account. Lo's Diary is an investigation into the myth that is Lolita. In Pia Pera's novel, Lolita uncovers her true self and tells us everything Humbert never told, never saw, and never imagined.

Memories of My Melancholy Whores by Gabriel Garcia Marquez

It is a year in which he relives, in a rush of memories, his lifetime of (paid-for) sexual adventures and experiences a revelation that brings him to the edge of dying–not of old age, but, at long last, of uncorrupted love.

As he tends to her with holy water and sacramental oils, Delaura feels something shocking begin to occur. He has fallen in love – and it is not long until Sierva Maria joins him in his fevered misery. Unsettling and indelible, Of Love and Other Demons is an evocative, majestic tale of the most universal experiences known to woman and man.

Shopgirl by Steve Martin

Editorial Reviews (Amazon): Mirabelle works in the glove department of Neiman's, "selling things that nobody buys anymore." Spending her days waiting for customers to appear, Mirabelle "looks like a puppy standing on its hind legs, and the two brown dots of her eyes, set in the china plate of her face, make her seem very cute and noticeable." Lonely and vulnerable, she passes her evenings taking prescription drugs and drawing "dead things," while pursuing an on-off relationship with the hopeless Jeremy, who possesses "a slouch so extreme that he appears to have left his skeleton at home." Then Mr. Ray Porter steps into Mirabelle's life. He is much older, rich, successful, divorced, and selfish, desiring her "without obligation." Complicating the picture is Mirabelle's voracious rival, her fellow Neiman's employee Lisa, who uses sex "for attracting and discarding men."

The Dud Avocado by Elaine Dundy

Book Description (New York Review of Books): The Dud Avocado follows the romantic and comedic adventures of a young American who heads overseas to conquer Paris in the late 1950s. Edith Wharton and Henry James wrote about the American girl abroad, but it was Elaine Dundy’s Sally Jay Gorce who told us what she was really thinking. Charming, sexy, and hilarious, The Dud Avocado gained instant cult status when it was first published and it remains a timeless portrait of a woman hell-bent on living.

The Executioner's Song by Norman Mailer

Book Description (Amazon): Winner of the 1980 Pulitzer Prize. In what is arguably his greatest book, America's most heroically ambitious writer follows the short, blighted career of Gary Gilmore, an intractably violent product of America’s prisons who became notorious for two reasons: first, for robbing two men in 1976, then killing them in cold blood; and, second, after being tried and convicted, for insisting on dying for his crime. To do so, he had to fight a system that seemed paradoxically intent on keeping him alive long after it had sentenced him to death. [The book contains multiple age-discrepant relationships.]

The Nice Old Man and the Little Girl by Italo Svevo

Book Description (Amazon): The fable-like story of an old man's sexual obsession with a young woman is a distillation of Italo Svevo's concerns--attraction of an older man to a younger woman, individual conscience versus social convention, and the cost of sexual desire. This novella is a marvel of psychological insight, following the man's vacillations and tortuous self-justifications to their tragic-comic end.

Under her mentorship, these six girls whom Brodie singles out as the elite group among her students—known as the "Brodie set"—begin to stand out from the rest of the school.

The Shadow of the Sun by A.S. Byatt

She got herself kicked out of school -- for running away without telling anyone -- but over the course of the novel gets her act together a bit and does finally win a place at Cambridge.

The second part sees Anna at Cambridge... Here matters are complicated when Oliver [a married friend of the family] again appears, and this time their relationship turns into a sexual (and not-quite-romantic) one.

This question haunts Mary's family, her psychologist, even Mary herself. The Young Girl's Handbook of Good Manners for Use in Educational Establishments by Pierre Louys

Book Description (Wakefield Press): The first of Pierre Louÿs’s erotic works to see publication after his death, The Young Girl’s Handbook of Good Manners is also his most outrageous, and one of the few erotic classics in which humor takes precedence over arousal. By means of shockingly filthy advice and a periodic format, Louÿs turns late nineteenth-century manners roundly upon their head, with ass prominently skyward.

THE SECRET LIFE OF THE AMERICAN TEENAGER: Schoolgirls Sexually Attracted to Guidance Counselor

Here's the IMDb storyline for ABC Family's The Secret Life of the American Teenager:
15 year old Amy ends up pregnant after one night at band camp, throwing her whole life upside down. It doesn't help that she's now going to school with that guy.
On the pilot of the teen drama, Adrian shared with a classmate that she had to decline a party invitation, because her mother was out of town and, consequently, she was going to take advantage of the opportunity to "drink beer and have [teen] sex".

Subsequently, Adrian attempted to seduce Mr. Molina, her new Grant High School guidance counselor, by indirectly informing him that she was sexually active by asking, "Are condoms still available in your office?" It turns out that Grant High does provide condoms to nymphets, but no word if the condoms were "mint-flavored condoms with no spermicide, [and] labeled ''ONLY for oral sex'' like at Hunter - a top high school on Manhattan's Upper East Side.

Unsurprisingly, Adrian wasn't the only nymphet who was attracted to the new guidance counselor. For instance, Madison and Lauren were enthralled by Mr. Molina too. Madison shared with Amy that Mr. Molina was new, single and delicious. And Amy shared with Madison and Lauren that she had sex [after one night at band camp].

Interestingly, IMDb's Trivia section related: "In most episodes, the word "sex" is spoken an average 25 times."

CLAIRE'S KNEE (1970): Treat a Nymphet Like a Woman

In Éric Rohmer's Claire's Knee (1970) [French: Le genou de Claire Jérôme], Jérôme, the 35-year-old French diplomat, is infatuated with the Claire and has an insatiable desire to touch her young knee, but it's Laura, Claire's 15-year-old sister, who has fallen in love with Jérôme. Thus, Jérôme must decide if he should pursue Claire, his young unrequited love and knee fetish, or accept the convincing advances of Laura.

In the film, after Jérôme kissed Laura, she shared: "You know, I think I fell a little bit in love with you [...] Age doesn't matter to me. I've never been able to love a boy my age."

Subsequently, she added, "You know, I may look like a little kid, but appearances can be deceiving. I'm really quite mature for my age."

Interestingly, Claire's Knee (1970) reveals that a nymphet typically wants to be treated like a lady and referred to as a woman, because she is a [young] woman.

The CW's LIFE UNEXPECTED: High School Student-Teacher Sexual Affair

On s02e02 of The CW's Life Unexpected, 16-year-old Lux discovered that Eric was her new English teacher - after they kissed.

Lux wanted to continue the age-gap relationship, but for obvious reasons, Eric wanted to stop seeing his student romantically.
English Teacher, "If I would have known that you were 16!"
Student, "Then nothing would have happened."
Thus, Lux admitted that she didn't disclose that she was a nymphet, because she feared that she and her English teacher would not have "made out".

(IRL, despite the fact that Lux admitted that she lied about her age, Eric would have been fired and, possibly, he could have served jail time, but, in all likelihood, Lux would not have received even a proverbial slap on the wrist.)

Unsurprisingly, Eric was unable to resist the allure of a student-nymphet and by s02e07, Eric gave in and continued the age-gap affair with Lux, but Tasha, Lux's best friend, caught the teacher and student kissing.

Despite the fact that Lux lied about her age, she would not have received even a proverbial slap on the wrist for strongly inviting her teacher to an affair.

Life Unexpected only lasted two seasons. In contrast, Pretty Little Liars last seven seasons while the English teacher precariously decided not to end his affair with his high school student.

TANNER HALL (2009): Seduction By TWO Boarding School Nymphets

Tanner Hall (2009) won the jury prize for best film at the 2010 Gen Art Movie Festival and from IMDB the film is “[…] a vivid peek into the private world of an all-girl's boarding school. In a cozy, but run down New England, the knot of adolescent complexity is unraveled through the coming of age stories of four teen-age girls”.

The film was co-written by Francesca Gregorini and Tatiana von Furstenberg, the daughter of  Diane - the famous designer. The idea for the film developed after Tatiana and Francesca met at Brown, and it is based on their experiences at boarding school.

In the film, boarding school student Fernanda (Rooney Mara) had an affair with Gio (Tom Everett Scott), the middle-aged husband of her mother’s best friend from college. That wasn't the only age-discrepant relationship the two Ivy League coeds wrote in the film's script. Fernanda’s classmate, Kate (Brie Larson), seduced Mr. Middlewood (Chris Kattan), the English teacher.

In one scene, after she massaged a pencil with her lips, Kate suggested that the class read Lolita.

Unfortunately, Mr. Middlewood didn't handle his seduction well and became needy. And due to anti-polygamy laws, Gio was forced to choose between his pregnant wife and the nymphet.

Interestingly, Rooney Mara won the Stargazer Award at the Gen Art festival for her role as a high school student in an age-discrepant affair with the husband of her mother's best friend.
