On the Uptown 4, I stumbled upon a connection between Henry Miller's Sexus, Junot Diaz's The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, and a nymphet in an age-discrepant relationship.
In Diaz's Pulitzer Prize winning novel, Ana Obregon is: "[...] a pretty loudmouthed gordita who read Henry Miller [e.g. Sexus] while she should have been learning to wrestle logic problems."
13-year-old Ana was introduced to Henry Miller by her 24-year-old boyfriend before he left the east coast to join the military.
"He used to read passages to her all the time: That made me so hot," she said.
