Back in January, we did a post about two somewhat contradictory pieces that were published in Vice magazine. One of the pieces was an article that accused men of seducing teens into performing virtual strip shows, but the other piece was a short story written by Brett Gelman that had a teen seduce an older Santa.
The short story "Jailbait" by Zelly Martin is published In the current issue of Vice magazine. In the story, after Marie met Jack at a party her mother held for her stepfather, Marie tried to seduce convince Jack that the fact that she was underage shouldn't prevent them from having a relationship.
Marie said, “If I didn't run around town telling everyone, why would it matter that I’m younger? Couldn't this be a secret? Why does age even matter? Everyone is different. How did we even decide on 18, anyway? I know 18-year-olds who should not be considered adults. We should judge that person by person, if it wouldn't be so difficult and time-consuming.”
The short story doesn't reveal Marie's exact age, but the tags on Vice's website are revealing e.g. Tags: Fiction, story, fiction issue, underage, middle school cheerleaders...
