Down the Drain (Simon & Shuster, 2023) is Julia Fox’s memoir. Julia shared in the New York Times Bestseller that when she was an 18-year-old student at City-as-School High School in Manhattan, she applied for a job as a (teen) dominatrix where she “could make up to a thousand dollars a day.” 

To get the job, Julia submitted a “full-body picture”, her bio, and she had to: “Describe in detail [her] most sadistic sexual fantasy”. Julia’s “sadistic sexual fantasy” was trampling a man’s cock and squatting on his face to suffocate him to muffle his cries before he masturbated and had an orgasm “in under ten seconds”. Eventually, for “great money”, Julia became a sub. During one submissive session, an “older British businessman” with an “opulent watch and an impeccably tailored suit”, paid 18-year-old Julia $100 per article of her clothing, $100 to hook her arms to a suspension bar, $200 to whip her, “and another hundred to do it hard.” (p. 174) Of the submissive session, Julia wrote:

Julia became “addicted” to making “thousands of dollars a week, most of it cash.” However, Julia learned from the other dommes that “pretty dommes” didn’t “typically last more than six months at the dungeon.” Why? They got “plucked by sugar daddies who don’t wanna share them!” Consequently, Julia, literally, prayed for a Sugar Daddy. (p. 179) Julia wrote:

Every night before bed, I spend an hour scrolling through Backpage searching for my long-lost sugar daddy. I shut my eyes and pray: “Please, God. Please send me a sugar daddy. I promise I’ll be so good. I’ll never do anything bad again.” (p. 179)

“After six long months at the dungeon," Julia, then-19-years-old and still in high school, met Rohan at The Union Club. Julia described Rohan as a “gentleman in his late forties with tan skin, jet-black hair, big brown eyes, and a warm smile stretching from ear to ear.” (p. 189-190) And “in good shape for his age.” (p. 197)

After their first lunch date, Rohan handed Julia “a check for seven thousand dollars.” Consequently, Julia gave Rohan “a long passionate kiss with lots of tongue.” At their second lunch date “at a restaurant in the Financial District,” with Jerry Springer “sitting less than five feet away,” Rohan dropped a “thick wad of cash” (i.e., “ten thousand dollars”) into Julia’s purse under the table. (p. 193) 

With the newfound money, Julia “went out every night until dawn” where she chased “Xanax bars with unlimited shots of tequila”. She and a friend did “lines of coke off each other’s feet for the viewing pleasure of older graff heads.” And Julia got nude on the stage at The Box. (p. 194)

Rohan rented Julia “a new apartment in the East Village”. Consequently, she felt “guilty for hiding” her “addiction from him.” When she was with him, she would “hide the tracks” on her “arms with long sleeve shirts”, but when she got home, she would “have a spoon” on her “nightstand waiting”. (p. 196)

After Julia “pop[ped] a Xanax” and “chug[ged] two glasses of champagne”, she “doze[d] off” while they were having sex for the first time. (p. 197)

On her 20th birthday, Julia and Rohan had lunch before Julia returned to her East Village apartment “while clutching the bundle of heroin” she had been saving. (p. 198) But for her 21st birthday, Rohan purchased Jullia a “cherry-red Mercedes Benz” and upgraded her to a $10,000/month “spacious loft in Soho”. (p. 200)

Subsequently, Rohan invited Julia and her friends to: “the opera, the ballet, and front-row seats for shows like The Book of Mormon”, “courtside [seats] at Knicks games”, “shopping sprees at Bergdorf’s and Saks” and “Thanksgiving and Christmas Day together at Cipriani.” P. 200

Eventually, Rohan became “needy and possessive”. Consequently, the “weight of his affection” became “too heavy” for Julia, but she “live[d] in constant fear” that Rohan would “take everything away”. (p. 201)

Subsequently, Julia began an affair with Shane – a skateboarder whom gave Julia “pussy tingles”. After the “messiest, sweatiest, [and] raunchiest unprotected sex” of her life, Shane said, “May I ask what the deal is with your sugar daddy?” And he asked, “Isn’t he married” However, Shane opined that Julia being a Sugar Baby was “pretty cool” and “fuckin’ badass”, and Shane promised, “I won’t fuck it up for you.” (p. 203)

During the summer, Rohan rented Julia a house in the Hamptons where Rohan caught Julia and Shane in the pool. After Julia “wrestle[d] a towel” around her naked body, she introduced Rohan to Shane. (p. 205)

In the end, before both relationships soured, Julia learned that Rohan had another Sugar Baby named Sabrina whom looked more Italian than Julia. (p. 217) Rohan got Sabrina a Porsche and the keys to the house in the Hamptons (on the weekends). (p. 221) And after Julia informed Shane that she was [temporarily] pregnant, she learned that Shane was “dating a Norwegian model” and that “he had a cocaine orgy in the bathroom […] with, like, ten people.” (p. 221)

Regina opined that Cady needed more: height, style, and butt lift.

Due to a prank, Regina gained weight from eating Kälteen bars, which prevented her from fitting into her skirt. (Interestingly, Regina’s panties were over a pair of nude tights that were given a “lift” with implants.)

Mean Girls (2024) | Talent Show

In all three versions of Mean Girls, the Plastics (i.e., Cady, Gretchen, Karen, and Regina) danced seductively during the Winter Talent Show. The 2004 performance was named Jingle Bell Rock, but the Plastics in the Broadway musical and in the 2024 film performed "Rockin' Around the Pole". In all three performances, which were staged every school year, the Plastics were dressed as sexy teen Santa's Helpers, which included Santa's hats and red mini skirts. While all three performances were salacious, the Broadway performance was the most salacious, because when the “Hot Elves” sang “WE’LL ROCK THAT POLE ALL NIGHT!”, for the sixth year in a row, Regina's skirt fell off.

To clarify, Regina's mini skirt fell to the Broadway stage to, once again, reveal her teen cheeky black panties. And once again, she turned around, bent over, and displayed herself to the audience. We learned throughout Fey’s Mean Girls oeuvre, that Regina cheated on Aaron with Shane Oman. In the 2004 film, instead of doing SAT prep, Regina cheated on Aaron with Shane in the, “[...] projection room above the auditorium.” In the 2024 film, Regina cheated on Aaron with Shane, “[...]  in the third floor janitorial closet on the bags of sawdust that they use for barf!” However, the Broadway musical provided some detail on exactly how Regina and Shane were hooking up. On Broadway, Gretchen informed Cady that Regina was, “[...] hooking up with Shane Oman in the North Shore Lions costume!”

Also she totally cheats on Aaron. Every Thursday she says she has SAT Prep, but really she's hooking up with Shane Oman in the North Shore Lions costume!

Apparently, in this context, “hooking up” meant teen sex, because an actor in a lion costume aggressively simulated having sex. And he was not alone in the custome. 

In addition, Damian divulged while singing “Where Do You Belong”, that the high school’s band members were particularly sexually active (e.g., teen oral sex and “fingering”)

But in the 2024 film, Damian shared that Regina was the (lipstick) lesbian. Damian related that while middle schoolers, “[...] Regina was worried that Kyle liked Karen more.” Thus, during an after (middle) school game of spin the bottle, Regina decided to seduce Kyle by putting on a “little [girl-on-girl kissing] show” by kissing Janis. Consequently, Kyle got an erection. Damian said, “[...] Kyle was like ‘boing’!”

Speaking of girl-on-girl kissing, in the 2004 film, at an after-school Halloween house party, two scantily clad school girls kissed sensuously while a male student exclaimed, "Yes! Yes!" Speaking of Halloween and scantily clad school girls, in the 2004 film, Cady narrated, “In the regular world, Halloween is when children dress up in customs and beg for candy. In Girl World, Halloween is the one night a year when a girl can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it.” In addition, in the 2024 film and during the Broadway musical, Gretchen went even further by stating that not dressing like a slut (on Halloween) was, in fact, slut shaming.  Gretchen opined, "Cady, if you don't dress slutty, that is slut-shamming us." Thus, it should come as no surprise that during the Broadway musical, Regina dressed as a (teen) Playboy Bunny - complete with a cheeky bottom. And during “Someone Gets Hurt”, while still dressed as a Playboy Bunny, Regina placed Aaron hand on her left breast. 

Just like in the Broadway musical, in the 2024 film, Regina informed “Karen, I can see your bra.” Karen replied, “It’s on purpose. I’m going for a look.” Consequently, Regina asked, “Is it ‘girl who slept with eleven people’?” Thereby, once again, informing streamers that Karen had sex with eleven people - presumably, all before the age of 16! 

Interestingly, in the 2004 film, the teens weren’t the only characters who self-sexualized. For example, Mrs. George (Amy Poehler), opened Regina's bedroom door and discovered her daughter passionately kissing Shane Oman on the bed. Shockingly yet graciously, Mrs. George offered her teen daughter and Shane snacks and a condom. Mrs. George, "You guys need anything? Some snacks? A condom? Let me know. Oh, God love you." And in the 2004 film and during the Broadway musical, upon meeting Cady for the first time, Mrs. George inexplicably shared, "We haven't had any new meat in our little lady taco in so long." However, Mrs. George didn't clarify if the "we" included her teen daughter.

As for motifs related to self-sexualized teens, there were inferences in the 2004 film to the Girls Gone Wild franchise. For instance, while Regina was on the phone with Cady, Regina’s preteen sister was watching a Spring Beach Party advertisement on television. During the advertisement a brunette and blond spring breaker raised their cropped tops to reveal their bare breasts above their bikini bottoms. Consequently, Regina’s preteen sister raised her top too! During an all-girl high school brawl, where a schoolboy encouraged, "Yeah! Take your top off!", the secretary informed the principal, "They've gone wild. The girls have gone wild." And in terms of schoolboys requesting the schoolgirls take their tops off, in the libretto, after Cady introduced herself to the class, Cady’s classmates demanded that she go topless.

However, Fey gave high school actors the: “Option not to say that line.” And those lines had been removed from the Broadway performance that I saw. 

Recall that Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’s Simone had an age-gap affair with Dr. Jerry, a married ophthalmologist, whom, while showering [post sex], confessed to 15-year-old Simone that he hated his wife. And that Xanthippe received jewelry from her dad’s friend in exchange for her retainers. In addition, in the libretto, Cady revealed via "Stupid With Love" that when she was a whopping 5-years-old, she, "[...] fell in love, [with] this Peace Corps guy." That's correct - not "peace corps boy" but "guy". Cady's love was unrequited, but it took eight years before she "gave up trying"!

But during the Broadway musical, she sang, “WHEN I WAS FIVE, I FELL IN LOVE. IT DIDN’T LAST.” Cady didn’t mention her love interest’s age; however, she did share that her love interest was Kenyan. “HE RAN FROM ME. LITERALLY RAN FROM ME. AND BEING KENYAN, HE RAN FAST.” Then Cady clarified that she was actually 10-years-old when she fell in love with a Peace Corps guy. “WHEN I WAS TEN - IN LOVE AGAIN. THIS PEACE CORP GUY. I WAITED FOR HOURS - INSIDE HIS TEN WITH FLOWERS. WHICH MADE HIM LAUGH. WHICH MADE ME CRY. BY THIRTEEN, I GAVE UP TRYING.”

Yet, in the 2024 film, Cady (Angourie Rice) sang that she was 9-years-old when she fell in love with "This Peace Corps guy" and that she waited inside his tent with flowers.

Blame It On Rio (1984)

Cady reminded me of the film Blame It On Rio (1984) where 17-year-old Jennifer (Michelle Johnson) used her youthful beauty and insatiable libido to seduce Matthew (Michael Caine) - her father's 49-year-old best friend. After sex, but still in bed, Jennifer shared with Matthew that her (puppy) love for him began when she was 10-years-old. Jenner to Matthew, "I love you [...] I used to pretend [...] that we were married [...] when I was ten."

Lastly, as it relates to Cady, due to her attraction to her classmate Aaron, Cady shared that she was filled with “CALCULUST.”

WILD THINGS (1998): High School Girls and Guidance Counselor's Throuple

On the “90s Lolitas Volume 3: Wild Things [...] (Erotic 90’s, Part 19)” episode of the You Must Remember This podcast (October 9, 2023), Karina Longworth recapped Wild Things (1998), which we’ll partially relate with some added comments. 

Longworth narrated:

Columbia Pictures, a legacy Hollywood studio, released a movie about high school students having sex with an adult staff member at their school.  Released in March 1998 [...] Wild Things was a minor hit, grossing $30 million domestically on a $20 million budget. [Per the film’s Wikipedia page, the film made over $30 million internationally too.]

The adult staff member Longworth referenced was Mr. Sam Lombardo (Matt Dillon), the guidance counselor and sailing coach at Florida’s Blue Bay High School, who was having sexual affairs with Kelly Van Ryan (Denise Richards) and Suzie Toller (Neve Campbell) - two nubile 18-year-old school girls. 

Longworth narrated:

The action of the film starts when sultry rich girl Kelly Van Ryan, played by Denise  Richards, tells [...] that the guidance counselor Sam raped her. Shortly thereafter Neve Campbell’s Susie, a goth burnout with a bad dye job who lives in a trailer, tells the cops [...]  that she was raped by the guidance counselor, too. Both girls recall  that their older assailant couldn’t finish the sex act, and negged them with a strange comment, the same but for one word. 

In terms of the neg, Suzie shared with the police that Mr. Lombardo said, “No little bitch can ever make me cum.” And Kelly told the police, “He said, ‘[...] no little girl can ever make me cum.’”

However, later in the film, while having (consensual) sex Mr. Lombardo, Kelly requested, “Say you love me.” Mr. Lombardo replied and demanded, “I love you. Now give me the line.” Kelly said, “No little girl can ever make me cum,” which turned out to not be true, because Kelly kindly reminded Mr. Lombardo that she was able to make him have an orgasm at the glades. 

And speaking of age-gap love, Suzie related that Kelly was “in love” with Mr. Lombardo and that he had been her “fantasy”.”

In a plot twist à la Priscilla Cummings’ What Mr. Mattero Did (Penguin Young Readers Group), Susie confessed that she and Kelly lied about being raped by Mr. Lombardo. Longworth narrated:

The case goes to trial [...] On cross examination, Susie’s story falls apart, and she admits that she and Kelly made up their accusations of rape. Kelly’s mom is then forced to pay Sam a hefty settlement, by liquidating a trust fund that her daughter was due to receive on the mom’s death. 

In What Mr. Mattero Did, three seventh-graders, Jenna, Suzanne and Claire, falsely informed their middle school principal that Mr. Mattero, the music teacher, had molested them. But why did Susie and Kelly falsely accuse Mr. Lombardo of rape? Longworth narrated:

Why would these teenagers make this up? The first “twist” of Wild Things comes after  this settlement, when Sam, Kelly and Susie meet in a motel room and reveal that they  were all in on it together, and they’re all expecting to share the $8.5 million payout Sam  received from Kelly’s mom. 

Before splitting the $8.5 million three ways, the age-gap throuple had a three-way. Interestingly, Kelly arrived at the rendezvous dressed like a nubile nymphet in a pleated school girl (mini) skirt, a white cotton top, and a pair of bobby socks under her Mary Janes. Why did John McNaughton, the director, and the costume designer decide to dress Denise Richards’ character that way? Per Longworth, the intention behind putting Kelly in “clothing and accessories associated with childhood” was to make Kelly look like Lolita. 

The trio celebrate with sex, and though the ensuing threesome scene [...] there are a couple of images in it that seem worth noting. Kelly wears a  pleated skirt, mary janes and bobby socks à la Lolita to this threesome, and McNaughton includes a seemingly straight-faced shot of her panties being removed from under the skirt while the socks and shoes stay on. We know by this point that the character is 18 [...] in costuming  the character as a schoolgirl the filmmakers seem to want you to imagine that she’s  younger. In that sense they got what they wanted. 

It is legally permissible for adults to have or imagine having sex with people who are over the age of 18, but when the sexualisation of those of-age women is comprised of clothing and accessories associated with childhood, does it really matter that the women are months beyond their 18th birthday? 

Connectedly, Longworth referenced “Schoolgirls Make Alligators Look Like Ingenues” (March 20, 1998) - Janet Maslin’s New York Times review of the film where Maslin wrote that Blue Bay High School had a “well-developed Lolita squad” with Kelly as the high school’s “vixenish” “nymphet extraordinaire”.

As typical for a  film with an age-gap theme or motif, Wild Things had Kelly and Suzie participate in multiple girl-on-girl scenes. For example, during the three-way in the motel room with Mr. Sam Lombardo, Kelly and Suzie kissed, and later in the film the school girls kissed and undressed - in a swimming pool. Longworth narrated: 

The porniest shot in the scene features a still-clothed Campbell pouring champagne on Richards’s naked breasts, in an image that feels very Showgirls-esque.

Another sex  scene, between Richards and Campbell, recalls Showgirls again–in its girl-on-girl  coupling, its over-the-top emotion and violence, and its setting in a swimming pool.

Interestingly, Longworth related that Roger Ebert, in his three-stars out of five review of the film, wrote that Denise Richards’ sex scene was: “[...] either gratuitous or indispensable [i.e., absolutely necessary] depending on your point of view.”  

Speaking of gratuitous (off camera) sex scenes, Kelly said that Mr. Lombardo fingered her - anally. She said, “[…] his hands were in my shorts. You know? From behind. His fingers. His fingers. They were in me. Both places. You know?” And while admiring a photograph that she had of Mr. Lombardo and Kelly having sex, Suzie said to Mr. Lombardo, “I can’t decide what came out better. That little straw up Kelly’s nose or that dildo shoved up her ass.”

Not to be outdone, Neve Campbell’s character was lauded too. Danielle Gibson wrote in her Glamour piece “Hear Me Out: Wild Things Is Surprisingly Feminist” (March 19, 2016) that: 

“Spoiled Floridian princess Kelly (Denise Richards) and drug-addled swamp priestess Suzie (Neve Campbell) are two of the most well-rounded, fascinating, and exciting characters to ever grace the screen.” Ever?

I won’t share the rest of the film’s shocking spoilers, but I will share Longworth’s shocking assertion that: “[...] few actual teenagers have the adult bodies of a Denise Richards or Sarah Michelle Gellar, let alone the self-possession and sexual maturity of the characters they played on screen.” Longworth narrated:

What was potentially dangerous about depicting teens having wild sex lives in these  movies [...] was that they sold the idea that 16-year-olds are essentially adults, when there is in fact a wide range of rates of development, and few actual teenagers have the adult bodies of a Denise Richards or Sarah Michelle Gellar, let alone the self-possession and sexual maturity of the characters they played on screen.  

I would imagine that Longworth read Less Than Zero, but maybe she opined that that’s fiction with an unreliable narrator. Or maybe Longworth hasn’t read Restless Virgins: Love, Sex, and Survival in Prep School or Female Chauvinist Pigs: Women and the Rise of [Teen] Raunch Culture or even American Girls: Social Media and the Secret Lives of Teenagers. But Longworth must have known about Sami Sheen, Denise Richards’s daughter, who started an OnlyFans account when she was 18-years-old. In June of 2022, the self-described sex worker posted the announcement on her Instagram account, which prompted Page Six to post: "Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen's daughter Sami, 18, joins OnlyFans".

However, Maslin wrote more accurately in her New York Times piece that Wild Things, a film that  Longworth narrated “[...] was successful enough in concept alone to spawn three direct-to video sequels [...]”, showed that: “[...] high school students are capable of grown-up chicanery [...]” [Emphasis added]

The Secret Life of the American Teenager (ABC Family)

Although, IRL and in fiction, most school based age-gap affairs occur between students and teachers; however, it's not uncommon for a counselor to be the object of a school girl's attention. Episode 10 of the Plan Bri podcast is tantalizingly titled: “A Full-Ass Hour on Sex with Alyssa Sines: Losing Your V-Card, Anal, Porn & Masturbating” (September 22, 2020)

The episode was hosted by Brianna Chickenfry. Per The Sun, Brianna, originally from Boston, was 21 when the podcast was recorded. The episode’s guest was Alyssa Sines. Per Famous Birthdays, Alyssa was 21 when the podcast was recorded as well. 

Brianna described Alyssa as super hot, Ms. Sex Queen, and a sex icon with 1.1 million followers on TikTok to whom Alyssa talked about masturbating and rough sex.

“She’s just, like, a sex icon. She’s super hot. She has 1.1 million followers. She talks about masturbating. She talks about getting her back blown out.” 

Just as the title implies, Brianna and Alyssa began by describing how and when they had sex for the first time. Brianna, “We’re gonna start off by telling our Losing Virginity Stories, because that’s where it must begin.”

Brianna shared that when she was 16, she had a party while her parents were away. Coincidentally, she desperately wanted to lose her virginity, because being a virgin made her feel like a “fucking loser”. And it didn’t help that all of her friends were not virgins. And Brianna didn’t care with whom she had sex with (for the first time).

“I was, like, at that point where I was just, like, I wanna lose my virginity. Like, I don’t even care who it is. Like, just, it needs to happen. All my friends did. And I was like, I feel like a fucking loser.”

Consequently, Brianna got “hammered” and chose a younger “random kid”. However, Brianna was disappointed with her “first time”, because the younger random kid had a thin penis.

I won’t go into how Alyssa, whom shared, “I watch a lot of porn,” lost her virginity, but I will relate that she shared that she had sex behind her high school - “so much” “a lot”.

“When I was in high school, it [i.e., sex] was more fun, because you snuck around - in cars. I had sex behind my school - so much [...] Hey, teachers, I had sex behind the school a lot. Y’all probably already knew.”

Alyssa’s high school sexcapades reminded me of Andrew Trees’ novel Academy X (Bloomsbury, 2006) where Mr. John Spencer, an English teacher at the elite Academy X:  “[...] tried to avoid using any out-of-the-way stairwells in the afternoon.” Why? He didn’t want to come upon any prep school students having sex.

And straight out of a confession in Nancy Friday’s My Secret Garden, which Ariel Levy, in Female Chauvinist Pigs: Women and the Rise of Raunch Culture, referred to as a “groundbreaking collection of women’s sexual fantasies”, Brianna and Alyssa shared that they started masturbating in middle school.

Here’s the part of the Plan Bri episode that was most relevant to this blog. It’s not in the title, but Brianna and Alyssa discussed age-gap relationships. Brianna related that when she "18", she had “the best sex ever” with a 28-year-old whom had a penis shaped like a banana. 

Brianna, “Have you ever had, umm, sex with, like, a significant older man when you were, like, younger?” 

Alyssa, “I haven’t, like, fucked an older man. I’m, like, disappointed in myself.”
