Joyce Carol Oates' FIRST LOVE: Pre-Teen BDSM

Here's part of the plot summary from the dust jacket of the hardback of Joyce Carol Oates' First Love [French: Premier amour]:
Josie S- has come with her mother Delia to live in her great-aunt Esther Burkhardt's house in upstate New York. Also living there is Josie's cousin, Jared, Jr., on leave from the Presbyterian seminary. Preoccupied with his studies, impeccably dressed in his starched white shirts, distant and mysterious, Jared, Jr. is an intriguing figure to Josie's curious and impressionable young mind. One summer afternoon, when Josie encounters Jared, Jr. at the riverbank behind the Burkhardt house, dark secrets are shared between them as an unnatural love blooms.
Amazon elaborates with: [First Love is] a dark tale of adolescent love, divided family loyalties, psychological manipulation, and betrayal in the story of eleven-year-old Josie and her relationship with an intriguing, twenty-five-year-old cousin, Jared.

And Publishers Weekly adds some details:
Oates's compelling Gothic tale [...] is an intense, perfervid study of child sexual abuse, religious hypocrisy and family breakdown. Eleven-year-old Josie and her ruthlessly self-centered mother, Delia, spend a summer at the weather-worn house of Josie's angry, forbidding great-aunt Esther Burkhardt [...] Esther's gaunt, solitary, compulsively clean grandson, Jared Jr., a bookish 25-year-old seminary student, repeatedly preys on Josie, sexually violating her, taunting her in a low, hypnotic voice. He cuts her stomach with a broken clamshell, forces her to lick her own blood to seal their bond as cousins, shows her porno photos of tortured, naked girls and terrifies her into silence with his threats.
Here's an excerpt from Oates' First Love:
"Don't hurt me! Oh please...." You hear yourself begging, but Jared pays no heed. Slowly and ceremoniously [...] he undresses you --- pulling your sleeveless t-shirt off over your head, tugging down your cotton shorts, nylon panties [...] He lifts it [a broken clam shell] its sharp edge against your breastbone and you wince [...] between your little breasts, and again pressing, pressing --- and this time you cry, "Oh!" as the blood springs out and runs down your chest. And Jared holds you tight murmuring good girl, good girl touching the seeping blood, licking his fingertips then forcing them into your mouth, too. You almost gag, but you don't."
John Pistelli shared that First Love: [...] ends when she refuses to participate in Jared’s desire to make her his accomplice in preying on the poor children of their town for the purposes of child pornography, rape, and murder.

Lastly, Kirkus Reviews opined of First Love: Oates at her best--and a happy reminder that she remains one of our foremost chroniclers of childhood's awakening and woman's fate.

LOVE LETTERS OF A PORTUGUESE NUN (1977): A German Teen's Virginity is Sacrificed

In Jess Franco's Love Letters of a Portuguese Nun (1977) [German: Die Liebesbriefe einer portugesischen Nonne], after Father Vicente, a middle-aged priest and The Confessor of Sins, catches 15-year-old Maria (Susan Hemingway) committing "[...] wicked and shameful behavior."  in the woods with a 17-year-old boy, the priest convinces Maria's mother to send the nymphet to the convent. Father Vicente warns that Maria, "[...] will surely be condemned to hell if she continues to run loose."

Upon arriving at the convent, Maria is fingered given a vaginal exam to verify her virginity by Mother Alma, the Grand Priestess, while Father Vicente pleasingly watches. Mother Alma demanded, "Spread your legs apart. More! Wider!"

After the nymphet passed her vaginal exam, she was sent to the confessional. Father Vicente inquired, "Did you ever experience pleasure?" Maria answered by describing how she performed oral sex on her older cousin in a dream. Father Vicente audibly masturbated until orgasm during Maria's confession.

Maria is then shown to her room and is soon visited by the two youngest nuns in the convent. One of the young nuns welcomes Maria with a "sisterly kiss" on the lips before the nuns invite Marie to play a lipstick lesbian "game". But their game is interrupted by the Grand Priestess who, on the orders of Father Vicente, proceeds to sensually undress Maria and wrap her nude body in thorns. The Grand Priestess informs Maria that she must endure the pain of the thorns to achieve salvation.

When a letter that Maria sends to her mother explaining the hypocrisy of Father Vicente is intercepted, Maria is placed in a "cell of isolation" to repent; however, Father Vicente informs Maria that if she really wants to repent she must make, "A holy sacrifice," by sacrificing her virginity to satan (Herbert Fux)

But before Marie has the honor of sacrificing her virginity, she must prove herself worthy of the "honor" by performing a task or "penance", which is to perform oral sex on Father Vicente! Subsequently, Maria's 15-year-old virginity is taken by the devil in the midst of the nuns masturbating and having lesbian sex.

In the end, Maria refuses to believe that it was all a dream and does everything that she can to escape the convent, expose Father Vicente and Mother Alma, and avoid being burned at the stake.

Interestingly, Susan Hemingway was 14-years-old when Love Letters of a Portuguese Nun (1977) was filmed in Germany where the age-of-consent is, you guessed it, 14.

VALERIE AND HER WEEK OF WONDERS (1970): A Czech [Teen] Nymphet EVERYBODY Wants

Here's JHailey's IMDb plot summary for Valerie and Her Week of Wonders (1970) [Czech: Valerie a týden divu]:

A thief awakens Valerie, just 13, taking earrings left to her by her mother. By morning, the earrings have been returned, Valerie's first period has begun, and a troupe and a missionary have arrived in her 19th century town. The thief is Orick; he reports to a cloaked constable who may also be the missionary. Attention to sexuality is everywhere: Valerie's grandmother's puritanical nature, the missionary's sermon to the town's virgins, the parish priest's attempt to seduce Valerie, and lusty adults at play. Valerie's nascent sexuality puts her in great danger. Can she navigate the passage from innocence to experience, a route teaming with vampires, a murderer, and an obscure family tree?

This Czech New Wave is another example of the worldwide nature of ephebophilia. This is the first time that we've written about ephebophilia in the Czech Republic.

In this Czechoslovakian film, 13-year-old Valerie (Jaroslava Schallerová) is sought after by men and women - friends and relatives. For example, Valerie is saved from being aggressively seduced by the middle-aged priest by her magical earrings, she cured a beautiful topless family friend from the curse of a vampire by lavishing her with kisses and after she gave the earrings to her mother as a gift, her mother very passionately kissed the baby faced maiden.

Unlike a number of films, the dark haired nymphet is this film wasn't played by an older actress. Despite her multiple (non-sexual) topless scenes, Jaroslava Schallerová was 13 -years-old when Valerie and Her Week of Wonders was filmed. (Coincidentally, the age of consent in the Czech Republic is 15.)

Interestingly, this film is considered one of the outstanding achievements of Czech new-wave cinema. The film received those accolades despite the fact that the star of the film is a topless 13-year-old, who is being seduced by middle-aged men and women - some of whom are her relatives (i.e., incest).

This film is based on the book that was written by Vítězslav Nezval - an avant-garde Czech writer and co-founder of the Surrealist movement in Czechoslovakia.

Valerie and Her Week of Wonders can be seen with English subtitles here.

THE NIGHT OF THE IGUANA (1964): "Lolita" Seduces a Priest

Here's part of the storyline posted on IMDb for The Night of the Iguana (1964):

The Rev. T. Lawrence Shannon has been living in Mexico for two years, working as a tourist guide for a cut-rate travel agency. Shannon lost his church and was defrocked after taking liberties with one of his parishioners. He's now accompanying a group of middle-aged ladies from Texas whose leader, Judith Fellowes, is keeping a close eye on her teenage ward, Charlotte Goodall [(Sue Lyon)], who definitely has an interest in the former priest. After Charlotte and Shannon spend the night together, Fellowes is out to have him fired [...]

Lolita (1962) fans are well-aware that Sue Lyon was 14 when she was cast into Stanley Kubrick's adaptation of Nabokov's novel. However, did you know that Lyon played a similar role, at the age of 17, in The Night of the Iguana (1964), which is based on Tennessee Williams' play?

In The Night of the Iguana (1964), Charlotte Goodall (Sue Lyon), a nymphet, enters Reverend Shannon's bedroom and seduces the Episcopal priest, who was played by the alleged real-life ephebophile Richard Burton.

The seduction comes after Reverend Shannon was seduced (off screen) by "a very young Sunday school teacher." However, in both cases, the Reverend was accused of being the aggressor and in the wrong.

It may sound counter-intuitive that a 17-year-old may be attracted to a priest or monk, but the mindset of priests and pimps are similar. Consequently, they're similarly attractive to (young) women.

The teleiophile themed The Night of the Iguana won an Oscar, grossed $12 million worldwide at the box office, earned $4.5 million in US theatrical rentals, and was the 10th highest grossing film of 1964. And Time magazine said the film, " [...] excites the senses, persuades the mind, and even occasionally speaks to the spirit—one of the best movies ever made from a Tennessee Williams play."
