NBC's Rock Center did a profile on Mimi Alford, who was a nineteen-year-old college student when she began an eighteen month affair with forty-five-year-old President John F. Kennedy. Like Father, Like Son. Having read The Dark Side of Camelot, we were not surprised by this revelation in Mimi's book, Once Upon a Secret: My Affair with President John F. Kennedy and Its Aftermath.
Per Mimi, here is how the affair began:
Mimi visited the White House when she was a senior at Miss Porter's [Boarding] School. A year later she received an unsolicited phone call to do an internship at the White House. After her fourth day on the job, she received a call from Dave Powers (aka. The First Friend) to join the President and two other young women for a midday swim. Later that evening, she received another call from Powers to attend a gathering in the White House. After some small talk, the President took Mimi to Jackie O's bedroom, guided her down to the bed and took her virginity.
